Little Gardens Wedding

I had the pleasure of photographing a Little Gardens wedding a few weeks ago.  It was a beautiful day in Lawrenceville, GA.  I absolutely love gardens so I was excited to return to photograph this wedding. I always take a few extra photos of the landscape to use as inspiration in my garden.   The bride and groom had a First Look to make sure they had enough time for romantic portraits. Their evening ceremony wouldn’t allow enough time for family and bridal party portraits and have a good variety of couple portraits. The tall hedges hide what seems to be a secret garden on the right of the front porch. This was the perfect spot for the groom to await his bride. With two photographers, we were able to capture the joy & excitement on both the bride and groom’s face as they saw each other for the first time.  This is such a sweet and intimate moment that can’t be captured during the ceremony.   The bride wore a gorgeous tea length wedding dress. I loved the illusion neck with embroidered bodice. The A line and tulle skirt is great for twirling.   With as many weddings as I photograph, it’s always great to […]

Do you really need a wedding album?

As a wedding photographer it’s my job to capture all the wonderful and joyous moments during your wedding day that you may not notice or see because you’re enjoying and living your day. Whether it is the moment you kiss your spouse, or your flower girl dancing on the dance floor, or the look in your mom’s eyes during your first dance. Wouldn’t you love to look back on these moments throughout the years and share them with your family? I’ve talked to many soon to be brides about why a wedding album is such a great investment and many of them had common reasons as to why they didn’t want a professional wedding album:   They’re too expensive They feel they can make one themselves They feel there’s no need to purchase one right away, and they’ll do it later They don’t think they’ll ever look at it So, here are 5 reasons why you would appreciate and should invest in a wedding album. It’s a great way to establish family legacy What’s better than being able to begin a legacy for future generations to reminisce about and even use as inspiration as they plan their weddings? With a wedding album, […]

Happy New Year 2016

2015 was my 10th year in business. Although I never did an anniversary celebration, every time I picked up my camera and walked out the door to a wedding, portrait session, birthday party, maternity or newborn shoot, it was a celebration of patience, perseverance and triumph. I’m grateful to all of the clients that have let me into the most intimate moments of their lives and trusted me with their most treasured moments. I smile on the inside every time I think of how a legacy is being established or preserved. I smile at the fact that someone, not even born yet, will be witnessing these moments through my photographs. So I want to say a heartfelt thanks to my family, friends and clients for supporting me all these years. I look forward to an awesome 2016 and can’t wait to photograph even more of you wonderful people. Happy New Year 2016!

Wedding Photography Contract

What’s common in a wedding photography contract Finding the perfect wedding photographer can take months as you search different websites, Instagram, or Facebook pages. Once you have found who you think will provide the best service and capture the magical moments of your special day, it’s important that you schedule a time with them to sit down to discuss and go over your wedding photography contract in detail. A wedding photography contract is essential to ensure there is no miscommunication between you and your photographer. It outlines what you should expect to happen on your special day, you and your photographer’s guidelines and the price. Some common things that are included in a typical contract are: Compensation and Fees This expresses what your photographer determines you will be responsible for outside of the pricing for your photographs. It includes their retainer fees, price for additional hours outside of the package, and if you must take responsibility for traveling costs for your photographer.   Product Pricing and Order Placement This part of your contract is of course one of the most important to go over, because it provides the details of what services included and the price. It also describes ordering […]

Payne-Corley House Wedding

Happy three week anniversary to Kristin and Nick, who were married at the Payne-Corley House in Duluth, GA. The couple are childhood friends whose families moved from the same NY neighborhood to the same Lawrenceville, GA neighborhood.  It seems they were fated to be together.  Their first kiss happened when they were only a few months old. They had a beautiful, outdoor fall wedding with stunning bouquets provided by Jeanna Bailey of Floral Matters. Thanks to Andre Brown for photographing the wedding with me. Here are a few highlights from their Payne-Corley House wedding. Agnes Scott Engagement Photos

Kristen and Nick braved the sweltering summer heat to take engagement photos at Agnes Scott College, where Kristen just finished her post-Baccalaureate pre-med school program.  Agnes Scott engagement photos offer a variety of scenic backdrops with its Gothic architecture, the Alumnae Garden featuring a fish pond and much needed shade from the 100+ year old trees. Kristen and Nick were so carefree and relaxed, you’d never know from the photos that it was 95 degrees and we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes. They were great sports. I’m looking forward to photographing Kristen and Nick’s wedding at the Payne Corley House in Sept.

Wedding First Look Wedding couples hire me for my ability to document, candid moments and show how the day feels in addition to what happened. One of my favorite moments to photograph is a First Look.  When a wedding couple will see each other before the ceremony  I’ll arrange a time and place for them to see each other for the first time called a First Look. This is a great opportunity to get natural expressions and emotions so I love when couples decide to do this.   All the formal portraits are done before the ceremony so everyone can enjoy the […]

Intimate Decatur Wedding at Wahoo Grill

I really enjoy photographing non-traditional weddings so this intimate Decatur wedding at a restaurant was right up my alley.  The bride wore a custom wedding dress made by her mom.  Instead of a typical hotel to get ready, she rented a cute East Atlanta bungalow through AirBnB.  We stopped by Grant Park for some romantic portraits on the way to the Wahoo Grill in Decatur, where the couple exchanged vows.
