Little Gardens Wedding

I had the pleasure of photographing a Little Gardens wedding a few weeks ago.  It was a beautiful day in Lawrenceville, GA.  I absolutely love gardens so I was excited to return to photograph this wedding. I always take a few extra photos of the landscape to use as inspiration in my garden.   The bride and groom had a First Look to make sure they had enough time for romantic portraits. Their evening ceremony wouldn’t allow enough time for family and bridal party portraits and have a good variety of couple portraits. The tall hedges hide what seems to be a secret garden on the right of the front porch. This was the perfect spot for the groom to await his bride. With two photographers, we were able to capture the joy & excitement on both the bride and groom’s face as they saw each other for the first time.  This is such a sweet and intimate moment that can’t be captured during the ceremony.   The bride wore a gorgeous tea length wedding dress. I loved the illusion neck with embroidered bodice. The A line and tulle skirt is great for twirling.   With as many weddings as I photograph, it’s always great to […]

Do you really need a wedding album?

As a wedding photographer it’s my job to capture all the wonderful and joyous moments during your wedding day that you may not notice or see because you’re enjoying and living your day. Whether it is the moment you kiss your spouse, or your flower girl dancing on the dance floor, or the look in your mom’s eyes during your first dance. Wouldn’t you love to look back on these moments throughout the years and share them with your family? I’ve talked to many soon to be brides about why a wedding album is such a great investment and many of them had common reasons as to why they didn’t want a professional wedding album:   They’re too expensive They feel they can make one themselves They feel there’s no need to purchase one right away, and they’ll do it later They don’t think they’ll ever look at it So, here are 5 reasons why you would appreciate and should invest in a wedding album. It’s a great way to establish family legacy What’s better than being able to begin a legacy for future generations to reminisce about and even use as inspiration as they plan their weddings? With a wedding album, […]

Atlanta Wedding Inspiration: Motion Blur

My goal in creating wedding photos is to give the viewer a since of what it felt like to be present in that wedding.  There is always a lot of energy and excitement going on and one technique I occasionally use to capture that is motion blur. Motion blur is the intentional use of blur to imply movement. There are a variety of ways to use but I especially love motion blur on the dance floor. We’re used to seeing those moments frozen, but sometimes it’s nice to see the movement. There are some tricks to pulling this off and it doesn’t always work, but when it does, it can be a nice and unique way to preserve a moment.
