Payne-Corley House Wedding

Happy three week anniversary to Kristin and Nick, who were married at the Payne-Corley House in Duluth, GA. The couple are childhood friends whose families moved from the same NY neighborhood to the same Lawrenceville, GA neighborhood.  It seems they were fated to be together.  Their first kiss happened when they were only a few months old. They had a beautiful, outdoor fall wedding with stunning bouquets provided by Jeanna Bailey of Floral Matters. Thanks to Andre Brown for photographing the wedding with me. Here are a few highlights from their Payne-Corley House wedding. Wedding at Elaborate Events

“They look like they’re having a good time” my husband said as he saw me editing images. Raquel, Ricky and their friends and family had a great time at the wedding at Elaborate Events.

RhauCheeca and KT Married, Atlanta Wedding Photographer

I’m sharing my favorites from RhauCheeca and KT’s wedding at the Doubletree Hotel Atlanta/Roswell.  Many of the guests came from Alabama and Virginia to celebrate as the couple started their new life together.

50th Anniversary

It’s not often that I get to see a couple reach their 50th anniversary, so it was an honor to photograph the Golden Anniversary of Charles & Mary. Family & friends flew in from all over the country for a surprise party to honor the couple. They renewed their vows followed by a delicious dinner at the JOEL Restaurant and live music by Madoca. The following day was a portrait session with the couple on the beautiful grounds of the Intercontinental Buckhead. You could really see how much they love each other & enjoy each others’ company. I hope to be where they are in 41 more years!

Historic Savannah Wedding

Last month, I rode down to Savannah to photograph a wedding with my good friend & photographer, Eric Joyner. The wedding was held at the First African Baptist Church, the first African-American Baptist Church in North America and served as part of the Underground Railroad. Portraits were taken in the historic Savannah squares and Forsyth Park. The reception was held at the Savannah Hilton Desoto. Here are some favorites from the wedding. The bride made her own custom aisle runner with names & wedding dates embroidered on it.

Wedding at the Hilton and Piedmont Park

The Hilton Atlanta exemplified customer service by going above and beyond at last weeks wedding. Shannon & Jaron, a very special couple, were married on Jun 22 at the Hilton Atlanta.  They had to change their date at the last minute due to an illness that caused one of them to be hospitalized.   It was truly a blessing to see a full recovery and watch them be married a month after their original date. Although the wedding was not as extravagant as originally planned, the love and happiness was overwhelming.  The change in plans did allow us time to take the couple out to Piedmont Park for portraits in the rain! Piedmont park is the most popular setting for Atlanta engagement portraits. The Midtown skyline, rolling hills, lake and gazebo make the perfect backdrop for fun, casual and romantic portraits.

Savannah Wedding in the Historic Squares

I blogged Yolanda & Trey’s funky Little Five Points engagement portraits a few months ago. Well, they were married in a beautiful wedding ceremony in Savannah’s historic Chatham Square.  It was a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding.  Their reception was held just a few blocks away at Savannah Station.  This was a really fun wedding and hard to narrow down my favorite 15 photos.  I loved how the girls were jamming to old skool hip hop like Doug E Fresh while getting ready. (BTW, Mighty 808 is a great online radio for that kind of music).  And it was great how the guys spontaneously started singing the My Girl, complete with Temptations choreography during their portraits. My husband accompanied me and we celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary in Savannah and Daufuskie Island. I’ll post more about that later.
